Hello All!
This is my first blog post/video project in F O R E V E R! I have been super busy for the last 6 months and haven't gotten a chance to film a craft video. I really do miss it! I am going to work hard to get a video up at least every other week. Thank you all for sticking by!

Today's card is BRIGHT. I love zebra (and other animal) print. I think any young girl would love to receive this card! (I know I would!)

Scrapbook Area/Room Organization

Today I thought I'd share some of my ideas to organize a (small) scrapbook area (I have part of a room). I recently moved my 10 cart drawer (see it in this video, more specifically @ 10:40) out of my scrapbook area. This was alot of good space to organize, but I need it somewhere else now. Everything that was in that, now has to be organized other places throughout my scrapbooking area.
TIP: Use things that you'd normally throw away. Wash out the item & let it dry. Cover it with some cute patterned paper.

This is just a locker organizer. I thought it would be nice to organize some of my commonly used items. You can usually find these around this time of year.

This is a cereal box. I cut 3 sides off the front, so it will open and close. This houses all of my stickers.

This is a cocoa powder container. I covered it with some cute patterned paper. I kept the lid in case I ever want to put something different in it. Now, it houses my edge craft sizzors.

This came from either staples or office depot...can't remember. These are at the little stations where you can pick different types of paper clips and office supplies, After I used up all of the paper clips, I used it to store pens and pencils.

I got this a while back, they are frequently sold at the Target Dollar Spot. I thought I'd store my buttons in it, because I don't have a huge collection of buttons.

I LOVE this. I use it at a mini trash can for my desk. I covered it with some sparkly patterned paper. It helps my desk stay clean while I am working on big projects.

Hello Everyone! I know many of us may vacation over the summer and have family trips, or trips to visit distant (in space, not relation) relatives. I know many of us crafters (including me) love to make small personalized items for family members. This post also has ideas for easy Cricut gifts.

These are door signs, great for bedrooms. I kept it easy on myself and used the same 2 designs. It is much easier to work this way, you can cut out 2 of each image). I used 4x8 pieces of chipboard for each sign. On the girls' I added cream 4x8 cardstock, red letters, and a princess hat. On the boys' I added 4x8 bright blue cardstock, navy blue letters, and a alligator. (all paper by recollections @ Michael's, except princess hat [making memories-cosmopolitan stack])

I cut all of the letters out from George & Basic Shapes, I used 'shadow' for the letters. I think that chunky letters are cute.
I cut the Alligator from Create A Critter. A little hint to same some paper- Instead of cutting the (base) gator image in black and then cutting layer one in navy, I just cut the base in navy... not a huge deal to have navy eyes... that's all the black (base) is used for. This is the first time I have cut the Alligator; it is cute, but still boyish (sometimes I find Create A Critter can be a little cutesy for boy projects).

I LOVE this! I cut the princess hat out using the Sweet Treats cartridge. I used this same cut in this project. As you can see in the 2nd picture, I added cotton candy stickles to the heart on the princess hat, and xmas red stickles on the letters in small dots.

Good Evening Everyone! I have been slaking on the tutorials (whats new? lol!) I really love making tutorials & the response I get from them, but the editing is what takes FOREVER, and causes me to slack. Today I have a video tutorial for a quick card. I used SCAL2 Software, but if you do not have SCAL2 or Cricut Design Studio (which would would using basic cartridges) a punch or circle cutter will do the same. I love this card. It turned out much better than I expected.

Zebra Invitations

Here are some awesome zebra invitations I made using Sure Cuts a Lot. I made them a while ago and forgot to share. These are the instructions. I love these!

Instructions-

1.) Find a good zebra print, just google zebra print or zebra background.

2.) Save it to your computer

3.) Import it into Sure Cuts A Lot using the 'AutoTrace'

4.) Size it down to the desired size.
5.) add a box to the bottom portion. Select both the box and zebra print and 'weld.'
6.) Add 2 thin boxes up the sides and a thin box on top. Weld all of the pieces together.
7.) Create a letter. Find/Make a scalloped circle. Insert the desire initial/monogram to the scallop circle. I used the font 'Curlz'
8.) Create another scallop circle of the same size & shape.
9.) Cut out the zebra print and the solid scallop circle in black, and the scallop circle w/ initial in pink.
10.) Use the same pink color for your base.
11.) Apply coordinating ribbon at the split of zebra print and the solid box.
12.) Apply the Zebra configuration & ribbon to the base.
13.) Glue the initial scallop circle to the blackscallop circle.
14.) Use a pop dot to adhere the intial scallop to the middle of the card.

So sorry about letting last week slip by without a video. I was super busy with stuff on Saturday and got a cold on Sunday. But I sat down and got a video done. I will try to have another up by the end of the weekend. Now that the major card giving holidays are over with for a while, it will be birthday and regular occasion cards and seasonal projects until the fall.

This card is super simple...ribbon, a layer, and a sentiment! How easy!?! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper pack! It is AMAZING!

Simple Cricut Gifts

Hello Everyone! As we approach the holidays, you might want to make small gifts for friends and family. These are fast, simple, cute, & inexpensive. These are the kinds of projects that people can use and enjoy.

This is a container from a chow mein noodle container. I covered it with some pink heart paper I got for Christmas.

I used George & Basic Shapes for the Letters and flower. I simply tied a bow through the button, and adhered it with some dimensional photo mounting tape. The fibers around the top are wrapped and tied.

This is a simple grey spiral bound notebook. I was going to cover it, but I decided not to. I am glad I didn't(:

The pengiun is cut from Create at Critter at 4 1/2. This is honestly the biggest thing I have ever cut anything from this cartridge.

I embossed the scarf with the Cuttlebug, using their Swiss Dots Folder, and then added a tad on blue ink to make the spots more obvious.

I used the penguin's body to cover up the "70 PAGES, SINGLE SUBJECT NOTEBOOK"

Today I am going to be making a Thanks Card, using a mask I made in SCAL2...It is super simple, just line up a bunch of circles and cut...I used regular copy paper, but I know some countries out there have mask paper that you can use, to keep everything in place. Paint?

Okay, so I have been looking around the Cricut message boards lately and decided that I want to paint my Cricut and Cuttlebug. Currently, I am 100% convinced that the cuttle bug will be fine. The question is cricut...paint...a good mixture? I know that if I use a good strong painters tape and some grocery bags, the seams in which paint could get in would be sealed...But I still love it and don't want anything to happen to it.

So here is my idea, I know that I would need to get plastic paint. (My current plan is to go with Krylon Fusion for Plastic, which you don't have to prime(: click here to go directly to their website. I would go with Fairytale Pink and Flat White.) So, on my Cricut, I would paint the gray accents, along the end, pink. This was the message board post that made me want to paint it.

On the Cuttlebug, I would paint all of the green part white and all of the creamish, brownish, grayish parts the same pink as the Cricut. (looking like the new pink cuttlebug) I would probably be so hyper that I would end up with a pink bone folder, Cricut spatula, and any other random thing that are with arms reach;)

I know that this could void the warranty, but my warranty is long gone(: If you still have a warranty, I really wouldn't risk it. So before you start getting random ideas about painting electronics I would research a little(:

How to Clean Your Cricut Mat

Today I made an updated video of how to make your cricut mat sticky again. This video is more of a how to CLEAN your cricut mat. This works pretty well and is great to do BEFORE resticking. I only restick my mats when I have to (usually at the end of its life). Click Here to see how I do that. I only do that occasionally, because it really stick-ifies the mat and makes it disgusting if you do it too much. I didn't restick after this video, just cleaning it off made it sticky again.

Trust me, I LOVE create a critter, but I just haven't gotten around to filming a video (: So, we had reached 100 subscribers, and I didn't want to leave everyone without a video, so Cali made a project for you guys(: She put it all together on a video. I will (hopefully) be doing another video within the week! There are so many great features to create a critter, so I will probably be showcasing it(:

I received Create a Critter in the mail today!! I had the winning bid a few days ago of $32 (with shipping). The description of the item on ebay wasn't too detailed, so I was a little worried about the condition...but I opened the box and everything was great! I did notice that it wasn't in the original plastic outer packaging and the reward sheet wasn't in the box; not a huge deal... I don't think I would ever get enough points to buy anything(:

Loving Sure Cuts A Lot, I am not a huge cartridge person (with my Cricut, I got the Celebrations, George, and Mini Monograms cartridges; so I didn't realize how great the newer ones are) So far I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Create-a-Critter. I haven't played with it too much, but I can think of about a million occasions and projects that it can be used for(: There are sooooo many images and phrases that make the cartridge worth it!

Triangle Box

I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July and spending time with family and friends(: A few days ago I was totally inspired by the ChicnScratch Blog/YouTube, and absolutely LOVED the triangle box she made, but I decided to take it up a notch(:

Basically, you need 2 squares side by side (not cut apart) in order to make the box. That is all you need to know when changing the sizes. Here are some of the sizes you can cut your paper for this box-

4x8

5x10

6x12

The first one is hibiscus paper, (12x12) from HobbyLobby (ThePaperStudio) and it was actually in the Clearance papers for 25 cents a few weeks ago, and I thought it could not be more perfect for summer. I used some on that sheet of paper in a mini album, so I figured, it is in my scrap bin, I should use some of it up instead of cutting into a new piece of paper.

The glossy, polka-dot paper; I used in the larger box, is from a colorbox patterned card stock stack that I have had FOREVER. I love that stack and always hesitate to use it(:

I used a Studio G stamp from Michael's with some Martha Stewart Metallic Pigment Ink. I definatley should have used my heat tool to dry it, because being pigment ink on glossy cardstock is NOT a good combination. Between the video and taking pictures, the ink totally smeared. I think it had something to do with the fibers. hmmm... Oh well, I can easily make a new tag(:
